Introduction
The cPCIS-5040/5080 Series are specially designed as computer based embedded controller
enclosure for mission critical and high reliability applications. The enclosure is about 8U height
to accommodate an industry standard 6U CompactPCI front boards up to 4/8 slots (one system
with 3/7 peripheral I/O slots.) Very concisely mechanical arrangement provides the minimum
necessary space when integrating the enclosure into machine or vehicles. Non-blocked ventila-
tion design with hot-swappable fan(s) provides the best system cooling efficiency and easy main-
tenance capability. Built-in high quality backplane cBP-3204/cBP-3208 provides the 32-bit cPCI
bus running at 33 MHz speed with best impedance control and full range compatibility. The com-
bination with cPCI-6842 series CPU board provides computing power up to Intel® Pentium® M
1.8 GHz with lower power dissipation. The concept of cPCIS-5040/5080 Series design makes it
as an ideal computer platform for demanding industrial automation and machine automation.
